BeWeddy Platform
BeWeddy
BeWeddy is a wedding planning SaaS platform that helps couples, vendors, and planners coordinate every aspect of wedding organization. As the Frontend Engineer and Project Manager, I owned the technical architecture and delivery of the client-facing application while managing stakeholder communications across a distributed team.
Project Overview
- Role: Frontend Engineer & Project Manager
- Client: BeWeddy
- Stack: Next.js, React Query, TailwindCSS
The problem we solved
The platform needed to serve multiple user types (couples, vendors, planners) with different interfaces and workflows. The monorepo setup required careful dependency management and build optimization. Coordinating across time zones with a distributed team added project management complexity.
How we approached it
Architected the frontend using Next.js within an NX Monorepo to share code between web and potential mobile applications. Implemented React Query for efficient server state management, reducing boilerplate and improving cache invalidation. Created a reusable component library that accelerated development of new features. Established clear communication channels and sprint planning processes for the distributed team.
Results delivered
Key technical choices
Selected NX Monorepo for code sharing between web and future mobile apps
Used React Query for server state management instead of Redux for simpler caching
Built component library in isolation for consistency and reusability
Chose Next.js for SSR/SSG capabilities and excellent developer experience
