Healthcare Vertis Digital

Vertis Digital

A healthcare platform designed to improve patient-provider communication and streamline clinical workflows. Built for medical professionals and patients, the platform required strict adherence to accessibility standards while maintaining a modern, intuitive interface.

Project Overview

  • Role: Frontend Engineer
  • Client: Vertis Digital
  • Stack: Angular, TypeScript, CSS
CHALLENGE

The problem we solved

Healthcare interfaces demand high accessibility standards (WCAG AA+) while serving users with varying technical literacy. The platform needed to work seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices used in clinical settings. Patient data sensitivity required careful UX decisions around information display.

SOLUTION

How we approached it

Developed a component library with WCAG AA compliance built in from the start — proper ARIA labels, keyboard navigation, color contrast, and screen reader support. Used Angular's reactive forms with comprehensive validation for data entry accuracy. Designed responsive layouts that adapted to different clinical workflows — from desktop nurse stations to mobile patient check-in.

OUTCOMES

Results delivered

Achieved WCAG AA compliance across all platform interfaces
Improved patient check-in time by 60% with streamlined mobile flow
Reduced form entry errors by 35% through validation and UX improvements
Platform adopted across multiple clinic locations
ENGINEERING DECISIONS

Key technical choices

01

Angular chosen for its built-in accessibility features and form handling

02

Built accessible component library from scratch rather than retrofitting

03

Used reactive forms with custom validation for complex healthcare data

04

Responsive design prioritized mobile-first for clinical mobility
